Can I modify the stock quantity shown in online purchase channels?

Question

I don't carry a product in stock but I'd like to reflect it as available for sale on my website. Can I modify a product's stock quantity so that a different number is reflected in my online purchase channels?

Answer

Yes. You can set an artificial inventory quantity to be reflected on the web using the Web Quantity Override field. The value entered in Web Quantity Override will override the actual inventory in your GlobalTill store. Units will be deducted from this number with each sale until it reaches zero, at which time the value has to be manually reset.

To use Web Quantity Override, follow these steps.

1. Locate the product in the GT Backend.
2. Go to the Web Data tab.
3. Select Edit Web Data.
4. Go to the Advanced tab.
5. Enter the Web Quantity Override.
