How do I offer price matching at the POS?

Follow these steps

Use Price Match to allow manager user accounts to price match any amount, and salesperson user accounts to price match up to the maximum salesperson discount amount in the POS settings.

If Price Beater is enabled, an additional discount will be auto-applied on top of the price match price for loyalty customers.

To apply a price match discount at the POS, follow these steps.

1. Select the three dots beside the line item you wish to discount.
2. Select Price Match.
   
3. Using the keypad, enter the new price and any relevant Notes. Select Submit.
   
4. If Price Beater is enabled in the POS settings, the additional discount amount will auto-apply to customer profiles that have the loyalty flag enabled.

Frequently asked questions

1. Why is the discount amount applied to the transaction less than the amount of the price match?
   Salesperson user accounts can only discount up the max allowable salesperson discount amounts entered in the POS settings. Ask your manager to update the POS settings or perform a manager override to apply the full discount amount. See the article How to enable a maximum salesperson discount.
